feel the love … 061608

last night (sunday 6/15) i had again an opportunity that few people in their lifetime have. what took place normally does at a person’s funeral or retirement. i was able to hear people both young and old share their appreciation for how i had influenced their lives over the past years. these words meant the world to me. combined with the wednesday night before, i felt like i was the richest person alive. money could not have bought the feeling that i experienced.

normally our church does not have a sunday night service. the lead pastor called a special service just on my behalf as a farewell to my many years of ministry there. there were a couple hundred people who came which spoke volumes to me. there was love all around. i really could feel the love. so many hugs, kind words, tears, smiles, blank faces, and the list goes on. the many cards and gifts that was received communicated how much i am loved.

this brought home the point once more to me that touching people lives and loving them are two of the most important things that you and i can do. where else can you experience such joy and great feeling of accomplishment? i didn’t realize the major impact i had on so many people. you sometimes think that you are but you aren’t really sure. now i know that what you do for people and with them makes all the difference in the world. go and touch someone’s life today!
