you may wonder if i made a mistake within the title.  no i didn’t.  that’s the truth or is it.  well yes and no.  you see thomas was once tracy.  he had a sex change but left intact his ovaries and other female parts from the waist down.  he got married and eventually was artificially inseminated.  he became pregnant and as of this post is 2 weeks away from giving birth.  sounds confusing?  well it is.  when he was tracy she was a beauty queen.  she was a model—even making it to the finals of Miss Hawaii Teen USA.  the question is what happened?  what brought tracy to this point?  was she confused as a teenager?  was it genetic?  was she predisposed to the male gender?  was she trapped in a man’s body?  what happened?  this is a question we have to wrestle with and not try to answer too quickly.  how should we respond to thomas’ decision to become conceived as a man?  couldn’t he have had his wife be the one to carry the baby?  is there confusion here?
